Where to Stay

Airport

<a href="https://www.flylouisville.com/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Louisville Muhammad Ali International Airport</a> sits directly south of Downtown Louisville. The majority of hotels do not provide a shuttle to and from the airport; however a short 15 minute Uber will do the trick!

Transportation

We will not be providing transportation to Friday or Saturday events, but getting around Louisville is easy and convenient. Patrick O'Shea's is located just a short three-block walk from The Galt House and sits along historic Whiskey Row in downtown Louisville. 211 Clover Lane where our ceremony and dinner will be held is approximately a 10-minute Uber or rideshare from downtown Louisville. For guests choosing to rent a car, parking is available at both locations. Street-metered parking is available near Patrick O'Shea’s, and an open parking lot is available at 211 Clover Lane.

For the Ceremony

Think polished and wedding-appropriate, but not overly formal. Cocktail dresses, dressy jumpsuits, suits, or elevated separates are all great choices. The celebration will take place in an outdoor garden setting that includes both concrete and gravel areas, so feel free to dress up and be comfortable. In short: look nice, feel good, and plan to enjoy a relaxed evening with good food and great company.

Outdoors & Scenic Spots

Louisville Waterfront ParkEasy riverfront strolls with skyline views just minutes from The Galt House. Be sure to look for the Belle of Louisville - one of the last remaining, original steamboats still in operation in the United States. Big Four BridgeJust a short walk from The Galt House, the Big Four Bridge was the original traffic bridge from Louisville to IN, crossing the Ohio River. When the new toll bridge was built, the original bridge was turned into a pedestrian walkway. Cherokee ParkDesigned by Frederick Law Olmsted, who designed Central Park in NYC, the trails in Cherokee Park make you forget your right in the middle of the city. Be sure to stop by Jillian's favorite coffee shop - Fante's!

Things to Do

What time should we arrive to the ceremony on Saturday?Please arrive 15–20 minutes early to allow time to settle in before the ceremony begins. Can dietary restrictions and allergies be accommodated?Yes! Please email Jillian at jillkoskosky@gmail.com with any dietary needs. Will the ceremony start on time?Yes. Jillian is Type A. Should we be worried about traffic?Not really! Louisville traffic is mild by big-city standards. Most locations are a short drive apart, and downtown to our ceremony location is about a 10-minute ride. Giving yourself a small buffer is always a good idea, but no marathon commutes here. Are events indoors or outdoors?Friday’s gathering is indoors. Saturday’s ceremony and dinner will take place outdoors (weather permitting), with cocktail hour in the interior bar. Is there a rain plan?Yes! Our garden setting has a backup plan in place in case of inclement weather. Will we be walking on grass?No. While there is some gravel in the garden space, all events are on solid ground. Should we bring a jacket or wrap?Evenings can cool down quite significantly during this time of year in Louisville, so a light layer is a good idea. How far apart are the venues?Friday’s venue is downtown, and Saturday’s ceremony location is about a 10-minute Uber ride away. Are children welcome?Yes, but be sure to bring activities to keep your children busy. Neither the Friday or Saturday location are necessarily kid-friendly. Can I bring a plus-one?Due to space limitations, we are only able to accommodate guests listed on the invitation. Can we take photos during the ceremony?To allow our photographer to capture the moment (and your smiling faces), we kindly ask that phones and cameras remain tucked away during the ceremony. Please whip out those cameras during all other events though!

Overlooking the Ohio River in downtown Louisville, Kentucky, this hotel features a full-service spa and 6 restaurants. It is adjacent to the Louisville Arena and offers free Wi-Fi in public areas. Galt House Hotel offers spacious, modern rooms with air-conditioning and views of the city and river. They are furnished with a cable TV, coffee maker and work desk. Guests of Galt House Hotel can work out in the rooftop gym, shop in the lobby stores. XHale Spa-Salon is located on the 17th floor and there is a UPS store inside the business center. The wide selection of restaurants and bars at Galt House Hotel include RIVUE fine dining restaurant. Louisville International Airport is a 12-minute drive from the Galt House Hotel and airport shuttle can be arranged by the hotel. There is a covered walkway from the hotel to the KFC Yum! Center.
